Hello, and welcome to my classroom website! My name is Ms. Sofranko and I am one of the Learning Support teachers at Tamaqua Elementary. I am ecstatic to meet you and your child! I was born and raised in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania and a 2014 graduate of Marian Catholic. After high school I attended Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where I earned my BA in Early Childhood Education, a certification in Special Education, and a minor in Reading. While there I was also a 4 year member of the Women’s Basketball team. I also have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University and currently pursuing my ESL degree from Wilkes University. I am also an assistant coach for the girls JV and Varsity Basketball teams at Tamaqua High School.
I have many hobbies which include coaching basketball, running, spending time with my cats Roxy and Luna. A little secret that not too many people know about me is that I love pin collecting. I have been collecting pins since I was about 5 years old. I also love sour patch kids especially, the green ones!
I am very excited to stat this fun and fantastic school year of growing and learning. I am looking forward to working very closely with you and your child. Communication is the key to your child’s success therefore, please feel free to contact me at (570)-668-3306 or via email esofranko@tamaquasd.org with questions, concerns, or updated information regarding your child.
